Cambodia: Part 1

At the end of P3 (our term spent in Singapore) we embarked on our last trip in Asia. We visited Siem Reap, Cambodia and Hanoi and Halong Bay in Vietnam. Cambodia was absolutely amazing. Neither of us had seen anything like Angkor Wat or the other ancient temples we visited. Here are some photos from our first day in Siem Reap.

Heading from our hotel to Angkor Wat on a tuk tuk
A Cambodian family riding by on a motorbike
Liz in the tuk tuk
We made it to Angkor Wat just before sunset
So many layers of beauty at Angkor Wat

Happy tourists
Karim gets comfy
This place is just massive
Even Karim looks tiny
The level of detail everywhere is just incredible
The light starts to change
And the sun starts to set
More lion sculptures
I love the brilliant orange robes the monks wear
Striking a pose again
A quiet nook
He's higher up than he looks
A view from halfway up the highest tower
We paid a corrupt cop to take us to a section closed off to the public
Another shot from above
Another detail of the relief sculptures throughout the temple
I just love this shot - a perfect way to end this post
